Feast took birth over a shared meal on a train. The seed of its possibility took root among the VBWIM board and grew into a festival that many other hands nourished through their sponsorship, leadership, encouragement, presence, and support As a festival of word, image, and table, Feast offers space for women to preach in a variety of styles, emphasizes the richness and importance of imagery through its celebration of the arts, and sets tables for the communal experiences of shared meals.
Feast has become our signature event, and is now held the first Friday of May at a church. The first details about the upcoming Feast usually appear in March, and registration opens by April.
VBWIM has a long tradition of gathering together for dinner at the annual BGAV meeting each November and held at rotating locations throughout the state. The dinner takes advantage of the fact that many of our members are coming together to attend the BGAV meeting and the dinner provides an opportunity for folks to reconnect as well as get to know new people who are interested in being part of our organization.
Below is the latest post about this annual November gathering. We typically begin to advertise and register attendees beginning in October of each year.
